Ingredients:
Boiled Raw Rice – 2 cups
Black gram (urad dhal) – 1 cup
Oil for greasing
Salt to taste
Sod Bicarb – A pinch (cooking Soda)
Method:
1. Wash dhal and rice soak separately in water for 6 hours.
2. 2. Grind dhal without more water till it is very fine
3. Grind rice, adding a water from time to time to coarse paste.
4. mix together dhal and rice batter, and salt and mix well.
5. Keep to ferment overnight. When the mixture doubled in size and should be thick and of flowing consistency. (add soda-bicard and stir well)
6. Grease idli moulds,pour the better and steam for 10-15 minutes or till they are done.
7. Use as desired for fusion cooking.
8. Serve hot with Medu vada's, chutney and sambar.
